Frank Westerbeke
As a "rookie" stylist in training, Frank entered the Gadabout family 25 years ago as one of the first employees hired at a new salon owned by a talented young newcomer to Tucson — Pam McNair, who would become his mentor, his dear friend and ultimately his mother-in-law.

The winner of numerous awards throughout his career, Frank channels his creativity by bringing out the personality of his guests through innovative style and color techniques. That same creativity allows him to develop cutting edge building and space design for the Gadabout & VerVe Salons.

This year Frank will celebrate his 22nd anniversary with his wife Jana with whom he has two beautiful daughters--Wylie and Wagner--and will continue to oversee the day-to-day operations of Gadabout Salon Spas. Gadabout, the business that brought them together, continues to be a labor of love. And the future is ever unfolding for this dreamer of beauty.

Jana Westerbeke
Jana Westerbeke, daughter of Pam McNair-Wingate, grew up in the hustle and excitement of the beauty industry. As Gadabout’s first intern, Jana discovered her true passion in life. Through the creativity of hairdressing, she found she could touch people’s lives in many ways and as a Gadabout educator for more than three decades she knows that the more she teaches and shares her knowledge, the more she learns in life.

Working side by side with her mother, Jana helped to create the vision and philosophy that is Gadabout. In 2005, the torch was passed from mother to daughter and today, as President and Director of Guest Relations at Gadabout SalonSpas, Jana carries on the high standards of excellence instilled in her by her mother in those early years. Under her leadership, Gadabout has grown to include five salonspa locations as well as a second salon brand, VerVe, which now has two locations, and is a more organic approach to beauty and wellness. Legendary customer service continues to keep this award winning company strong. Jana inspires customer service programs that create the Gadabout experience. She empowers her team of colleagues to achieve their maximum potential in every aspect of their lives and to realize the positive difference they can make in other people’s lives through their work. Jana is inspired every day by their success. "I am here to coach and lead so others can succeed. When others reach their goals, it is my hope that they will want to ‘pay it forward’ to continue the growth cycle in this world we are blessed to live in." In the Tucson community, Jana was awarded the 2008 Women of Influence Award presented by Inside Tucson Business for her "pay it forward" mentality. Jana was also selected as one of the first five finalists of the Athena Award presented by the Arizona Small Business Association in its inaugural year 2010.

In addition to being a totally devoted mother of two beautiful daughters, and partner in life and in Gadabout with her husband Frank Westerbeke, she is one of Tucson’s most selfless citizens. In 2008 she was awarded the Spirit of Philanthropy award by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Southern Arizona Chapter to honor her contributions to the non-profit sector. Under her guidance, Gadabout SalonSpas also supports many worthy Tucson charities including Tu Nidito, Angel Charities, Youth on their Own, The Brewster Center, Susan G. Komen Foundation, Habitat for Humanity and more. In 2006 Gadabout underwrote the costs of an in-house salon at the new Peter & Paula Fasseas Cancer Center at UMC North to serve patient needs. Gadabout staff members donate their services at the salon to those who need wig styling due to hair loss. On this and countless other occasions, Jana has inspired others to share their talents to benefit the community.

Her dedication to making this community a better place also involves The Boys and Girls Clubs of Tucson. She knows that every child needs positive influences in their lives to thrive and become the best they can be. She is an active board member, past president and immediate past co-chair for their largest fundraising event, The Party.

In her industry, Jana has been an internationally recognized hairdresser since 1980. She participated in the Young ICD for Intercoiffure and style demonstrations at the organization’s World Congress in Germany. She is an active member of TSA, Intercoiffure, ISPA and ICSA. In 2004, Jana was recognized for her interior design collaboration with husband Frank with a Salon of the Year Award from Salon Today Magazine for Gadabout’s Oracle Road location. In 2008 Jana and Frank were awarded The Global Entrepreneurial Excellence Award for Salon Leadership in North America by Global Salon Business Awards, a prestigious honor given to one salon every 2 years. In 2010 Gadabout was honored as the Most Employee Friendly Spa by Skin Inc Magazine in their Best of the Best Awards. The Tucson community believes in Gadabout and has voted them Best Hair Salon for 9 consecutive years and Best Day Spa for the 7th time in the Tucson Weekly Best of Awards.
